16 December 2003 Placing Cyprotex PLC ("Cyprotex" or the "Company") has placed 4,500,000 new ordinary shares of 0.1p (the "New Shares") at a price of 18p per share, to raise £810,000 before expenses. The New Shares represent 4.74% of the enlarged share capital of the Company. Application will be made to AIM for admission of the New Shares to trading, with dealings expected to commence on 19th December.
