Scientific Highlights

Cyprotex had a busy year developing new products and services in 2009.

QTrapWe launched 3 new experimental assays mainly focusing on our Cloe® Select service; blood to plasma ratio, cytochrome P450 Ki determination and our UGT1A1 inhibition assay. We also enhanced our cytochrome P450 induction service to include mRNA assessment - an approach now recommended by industry. In addition, we have improved our metabolite profiling service by purchasing a QTRAP 5500, one of the most sensitive instruments in the industry.

Cyprotex introduced their first web portal, Cloe® Gateway in May 2009.

Cloe gatewayOur first offering on the site was an enhanced version of Cloe® PK. This was subsequently followed by our human intestinal absorption predictor, Cloe® Predict HIA. Access to Cloe® Gateway is via www.cloegateway.com

Our 4th North American Drug Discovery workshop was a great success.

It enabled scientists from a range of disciplines to meet and discuss current approaches being taken in a number of different companies to address drug discovery. Speakers included Norman Huebert from J&J, Sonia de Morais and Robert Carr from Abbott and Gabriel Labissiere from Cara Therapeutics. Further Drug Discovery Workshops are planned for March and June 2010 on the West Coast America and Europe, respectively. To register for either of these events, please contact Swadipa Das on s.das@cyprotex.com.
